ECBS/Dutch Mason Blues Festival Talent Search
Blues Idol

Win a chance to perform at the
2010 Dutch Mason Blues Festival
and WIN over $1000 in Prizes!

The Contest:

Auditions will be held on selected Saturdays at the at the Truro Mall. Each contestant will be asked to sing 2 minutes of a Blues song selected from a list of 12 Classics.

A live band, Kevin Fletcher & The Gents, will be on hand to back up each contestant. After each contestant sings, he/she will be given a short critique from a panel of judges.

Each audition will be video taped so it can be put on the ECBS website and allow viewers to vote for their favourite performer. The judges scoring will account for 60% of each contestant’s votes. The winner will be notified by phone and also announced at the next audition.

There will be two competition auditions, where the top 3 contestants will be picked from each audition to face off in a competition final with each contestant singing two new songs from the list. The Idol winner of this “play-off” will receive a guest artist performance spot to sing 2 songs with a featured festival artist at the 2010 DMBF.
