East Coast Blues Society Presents Matt Minglewood With an Honorary Lifetime Membership in the East Coast Blues Society

In recognition of his immeasurable impact on the Blues and music scene in the Maritimes and across Canada, the East Coast Blues Society presented Matt Minglewood with an Honorary Lifetime Membership in the East Coast Blues Society. The presentation was made Friday evening at the 9th annual edition of the Dutch Mason Blues Festival held in Truro, Nova Scotia from August 9th-11th, after a particularly spirited and emotional set by Minglewood. After the presentation, Minglewood came back for an encore and performed his classic East Coast Blues, inviting up and coming 18 year old Blues rocker and  fellow Cape Bretoner Curtis Matheson to share the stage with him. Matheson had made his debut on the Dutch Mason stage earlier that day and later posted on Facebook saying "Well, dreams truly can come true. Playing as a special guest with Matt Minglewood and his band at the Dutch Mason Blues Festival was certainly a HUGE dream come true for me.", further illustrating the impact that Minglewood continues to have on the music scene in The Maritimes.

If you visit Matt Minglewood's website it says "Rockin the Blues" and that's exactly what he's done his entire career and continues to do with every performance.

Earlier this year David Dewolfe, founder of the Dutch Mason Blues Festival, had the honor of presenting Matt Minglewood with the Blues With a Feeling (Lifetime Achievement Award) at the Maple Blues Awards in Toronto, ON in recognition of his lifelong contribution to the Blues and music scene in Canada.
